Sledding...Alaskan Style!

Now THIS is a sledding hill! Can you see the truck at the bottom of the road? That is where the kids are sliding to! It must be about a mile.
They take the easy way up, by being pulled by our friend driving his truck. The ride up is as much fun as the slide down because our friend swerves back and forth and they run into each other and sometimes get tossed out of their sleds! Then they have to run after their sled because there is NO stopping the truck on the hill! LOL
Just about to the top...
AND.....they're OFF!! What fun!

My goodness! That looks amazing. I think you are right, the going up the hill is just about as much fun as sledding down. How many times do they go up and down? Any more pictures? Looks like fun. Did you go down as well??? :)

Wow, never mind the kids, I would love this long run. I love sledding! We used to pull the sleds behind our snowmobile with the same result...bumping into each other and getting tipped off. It was so much fun!

Dody, this seems to have captured just another example of how different life is in Alaska! I can only imagine here that someone would call the police, there'd be too many worries about getting sued, etc. Awesome pictures, looks like soooooo fun!

WOW! What fun! I remember sledding on Crow Mountain by our house down a big hill in the winter time. Course, the hill wasn't near this big and we didn't have near this much snow! Awesome pictures. Where are the pictures of YOU???

I would of loved to do this too! My kids love to go sledding when we go back home to Indiana in the winter. My sister's town has a huge snow mountain that everyone sleds down.

Thank you so much for sharing all your pictures of Alaska. I don't know if I will ever get there but I have enjoyed visiting through your blog!

That's a VERY long sledding hill. My kids would LOVE IT! I would be the one driving the comfort of the nice warm vehicle (LOL).
