The life and times of our family... living, playing and growing in the shade of a mountain, along a river and at the foot of a glacier.

Breathtaking, just incredible what God has created. I must say, I would much prefer to be living the green picture instead of the icy one!!!! (Freezing here in Colorado, but not as cold as Alaska!)
The top picture is like a postcard! Absolutely unbelievable how both pictures represent the same scene. I agree with Kristine above...I would rather be living in the green picture too!
Thanks so much for sharing your photos. I'll admit this bunch made me incredibly homesick - both for AK and for that season in our life when all the children were home and we explored these areas.
Hey Kathy! Our friends who were visiting this summer took the first photo and I took the second photo as we were driving by on Sunday! Pretty cool huh?
Dody--is this close to your house? I wasn't sure if it was part of your trip or near home. Do you mind the cold? I am consistently surprised by people who fall in love with Alaska and want to GO BACK! Lol! It seems a bit too chilly for me. Of course, all we get, these days, is rain in WA. Ha!
Hi Kathy. It is about 60 miles from our home. Well, I don't mind the cold from about 10 degrees and up. Under zero really gets to me and when it is 20 below I really don't enjoy it much! LOL
All the photos are just wonderful. My 8 yo loved the icy swimmers. He likes to go in our lake when the ice starts to melt, jsut to say he's done it. Maybe one year he'll trek to Alaska to be a real polar bear. LOL
